Development, manufacture and commissioning of an air-priming device

The air-priming device uses live images and video to show the filling behavior of PCR nanoplates.
Each well is examined individually and filled with compressed air to detect potential issues such as cross-contamination. Different pressure profiles and filling patterns are used to analyze the behavior of the liquid front in detail. Images and video are stored for later analysis, including HD footage of each individual well and a summary video of all wells on each nanoplate.
The challenge
The main challenge was coordinating a project that brings together multiple technologies: user ergonomics, precision mechanical engineering, programming the required controllers, data acquisition through a custom SCADA system, and high-resolution video capture and recording.
The solution
Coordination from the initial requirements-definition stage between the client’s technical and quality teams and Amida4’s multidisciplinary team was key to delivering the project in line with the original expectations. A dedicated project coordinator ensures successful delivery when several technologies converge and close follow-up is essential to achieving the objectives.

A multidisciplinary solution developed and validated from start to finish.
